What does “팩폭” mean in Korean?
팩폭 is Korean internet slang short for 팩트 폭력 — literally “fact violence.” It names the verbal move of ending an argument with a point so undeniable it lands like a punch: no comeback, just silence. 팩트 is the borrowed English “fact”; 폭력 is the Sino-Korean word for “violence.” You 팩폭 someone when the plain truth does all the damage.
In use it usually takes the verb 팩폭을 날리다 (“to throw a fact-bomb”) or 팩폭하다; a close cousin is the harsher 팩트폭행 (“fact assault”). The blend follows a very Korean slang pattern — clip a two-word phrase to its first syllables (팩트 폭력 → 팩폭), the same way 최애 or 혼밥 are built. In the scene, a wealthy woman loudly accuses a young model of an affair with her husband, until an event manager fires back that this brand doesn’t hand VIP invitations to just anyone with money, and that her own VIP standing is slipping. The narration calls it exactly that: 선오의 팩폭에 아무 말 못하는 VIP — the fact-bomb that leaves the VIP with nothing to say.
