What is “Wie is de Mol?” in the Netherlands?

Wie is de Mol? (“Who is the Mole?”) is the Netherlands' longest-running reality competition. Launched on AVROTROS in 1999 (Belgium got its own version in 2016), the format takes ten Dutch celebrities on a destination trip where one of them, the Mol, secretly sabotages every group challenge. The audience and the contestants try to deduce who the Mol is from clues, body language, and editing tricks. The show runs each January, and molloten (Mol fans) treat the season like a national event with deduction blogs, podcasts, and Twitter threads.
