What is a Dutch “Bloemencorso”?

A Bloemencorso is a Dutch flower-parade tradition where towns and volunteer associations build full-scale parade floats covered in fresh tulip, daffodil, and hyacinth heads. The most famous is the Bloemencorso van de Bollenstreek (April), a 42-km route through Noordwijk, Lisse, Hillegom, and Sassenheim during peak tulip-season. Other major bloemencorsi include Zundert (September, traditionally the world’s largest), Aalsmeer, and Eelde. Each float uses several hundred thousand individual flower heads, hand-pinned by teams of volunteers in the days before the parade.
