What does “muumimusikaali” mean in Finnish?

Muumimusikaali is Finnish for a Moomin musical, built from muumi (the cultural property created by Tove Jansson) and musikaali (the loanword for musical). Finnish loves stacking nouns into one orthographic word, and the Moomins are a national institution: the Jansson estate, Moomin Characters Ltd. and the Moominworld theme park in Naantali jealously guard tone, image rights and adaptations.

The clip reports a London muumimusikaali marketed at adults, in which the Moomins have abandoned a darker Moominvalley. Finnish media split: some moomimainen purists are uneasy about a “naked Vilijonkka”; others note Tove Jansson’s own books always had melancholy and adult themes (Moominpappa at Sea, Moominvalley in November) that the franchise rarely renders.
