Who is Pommelien Thijs and the AFAS Dome show?
Pommelien Thijs is one of the biggest pop stars to come out of Flanders in recent memory. She started as an actress on the Flemish teen drama #LikeMe (Ketnet), then broke through as a singer with hits like Ongewoon and Drukke Stilte. By late 2025 she was selling out five nights at the AFAS Dome in Antwerp, Belgium’s biggest indoor venue.
This Karrewiet kids-news segment catches her on opening night: « Pommelien Thijs laat Antwerpen helemaal losgaan » (Pommelien Thijs makes Antwerp completely go off). Pommelien herself describes the room with classic understatement: « in België gewoon een iconische zaal [...] ik had nooit gedacht dat dat 5 keer ging lukken » (an iconic venue in Belgium, I never thought we’d pull off five nights).
