What does “il lavoro uccide” mean in Italian?
Il lavoro uccide (“work kills”) is one of Italy’s most repeated public-debate phrases. It comes back every time INAIL releases monthly morti bianche statistics: workplace fatalities, on average around three per day. Unions, opposition politicians and satirists all reach for it. The phrase carries the weight of Decreto Legislativo 81/2008, the country’s main workplace-safety law, which the clip explicitly riffs on.
